Сегодня с утра испытал проблему с чтением свежего номера журнала National Geographics на iPad (читаю через ZINIO). Т.к. времени было мало, торопился на работу, решил не разбираться, а кинуть вопрос в техподдержку программы и вечером, получив ответ, уже решить проблему.
Письмо с вопросом я сначала послал на адрес поддержки русской версии. Не получив ответа, после обеда переслал письмо (да же не переводил на английский) на адрес международной поддержки.
Вечером, почти одновременно получаю ответы.
Международная поддерка:

It sounds like there may have been a problem during the initial download. I'd like you to try downloading the issue again.
First, you'll first need to delete the issue. To delete an issue from your iPad library, simply tap "edit" in the top toolbar of the Library view, and tap the "Remove" button.
A small "X" will appear in the upper right corner of each publication. If you've already downloaded the publication to your iPad, you'll also see the file size represented in the center of the magazine cover. To delete the file and remove the cover thumbnail from your library, simply tap the "X" and confirm your choice to "Remove issue from device". The publication file will be deleted, and the cover thumbnail will be removed from your library.
Next, you'll need to restore the issue. To do so, tap "edit" in the top toolbar, and then tap the "Restore" button. You'll see the cover thumbnails for each deleted publication. To restore the thumbnail to your library, tap the "+" button that appears in the upper right corner of each publication. Confirm your choice to "Restore issue on device". Finally, tap "Done". You'll see that the issue has reappeared in your library. Simply tap the cover of the publication to download the issue again.
